Photosyntheory
Album 2025
Overview: Photosyntheory is a contemplative electronic album that explores the space between stillness and drive. You move inside luminous pads, tactile percussion, and melodies that feel suspended in air. The palette blends analog grit and refined detail – TD-3 acid, 808 and 909 colors, evolving synth layers, and subtle piano – all guided inside Ableton.
This record grew from the image of a sunrise on an empty plain. Not triumph. Not melancholy. A patient glow that invites you to listen closer. Across the album, meters shift between steady 4-4 and the circular sway of 3-4, balancing focus and trance, clarity and haze.
Tracklist and notes
1. Photosyntheory
Title track and core statement. Dreamy 4-4 rhythm, airy synth stacks, and micro-textures that glide rather than push. Built for flow states, writing, travel, and late-night focus. Calm energy without losing momentum – a quiet engine under wide skies.
2. Skytrail
A dark, immersive journey in 3-4. Acid basslines and analog textures pass like headlamps on a mountain road at night. Tense yet hypnotic, circular and inexorable. The rhythm tilts the floor just enough to pull you forward.
3. Nerf – Remaster
An updated lens on control and chaos. Gritty surfaces, broken patterns, and the feeling of a machine learning to breathe. Organic-mechanical dialogue, now sharper and deeper, with extra headroom and detail in the low-mid body.
4. Walking a Tightrope
Balance as a sensation. Evolving synth layers and textured percussion hold a thin line between order and drift. Tension without panic, release without collapse. The track walks, never falls.
5. I Am Your Father
Vertigo as harmony. Harmonic minor and phrygian-dominant colors shape a cinematic gravity. Pads bloom, then fracture; rhythms appear, then recede. Identity, legacy, and the quiet shock that changes everything.
