Néophile

EP 2024

Overview: Néophile is John Musichead’s debut EP—an exploration of rhythm, texture and unbridled energy. It is built around hypnotic techno grooves, long evolving builds and detailed hi‑hat patterns.

Techno as a genre relies on looping bass lines and drum machines to create entrancing rhythms; in Néophile these elements capture the joy of creation and the desire to make people dance.

The EP draws from house music’s steady four‑beat pulse while incorporating IDM‑like sound design to keep listeners engaged.

Tracklist and notes

1. Tot Binåhe d’Èsse Sot

A high‑energy, repetitive banger whose title, meaning “so happy to be silly” in Walloon, perfectly captures its vibe—pure, unfiltered joy and a touch of madness. Built on driving beats and dynamic rhythms, it keeps the club alive and invites listeners to lose themselves in motion. The four‑on‑the‑floor rhythm allows other instruments to improvise above it, while layers of hi‑hats and synth stabs add texture.

2. Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme

John’s first released track blends electronic, techno and experimental elements. Inspired by the fusion of classical themes with contemporary beats, it uses synthesiser melodies reminiscent of early Detroit techno while layering them over house‑like kicks and percussive claps. Produced in Ableton, it reflects John’s passion for creating immersive and innovative experiences.
